Loes van Bokhoven completed her training as a general practitioner at Maastricht University, where she was one of the first trainees to combine clinical training with research. Since 2004, she has been working as a GP – first in Venlo, then as a practice owner in Elsloo, Limburg. Loes is passionate about delivering personalized care grounded in scientific evidence, with a strong focus on the patient’s context.

Her motivation for her role in general practice stems from her research interests and experiences. Loes has specialized in interprofessional collaboration, a clinician’s intuitive sense about a patient’s condition, and the treatment of medically unexplained physical symptoms. Her involvement in innovating medical education and leading a healthcare network in Elsloo reflects her commitment to continuous innovation and improvement in healthcare.
