The aim of the UNH Consortium for General Practice Research is to establish and maintain optimal conditions for primary care research, specifically focusing on general practice in the Netherlands, including large-scale multicenter studies. <\/strong><\/h3>\n

What we do<\/h3><\/div><\/div>[vc_column_text]The UNH Consortium for General Practice Research was established in 2013 by UNH-Research (formerly IOH-R). Through this consortium, we develop a shared vision and policy for scientific research in general practice, as well as the necessary frameworks to support it. We also identify and share opportunities and threats \u2013 collaborating to address them effectively.[\/vc_column_text]

Our values<\/h3><\/div><\/div>[vc_column_text]Generating new scientific knowledge to improve general practice is essential for the sustainability and advancement of primary care. Close alignment and collaboration between university departments make this more promising, impactful, and better.[\/vc_column_text]

Collaborative research: GRIP3<\/h3><\/div><\/div>[vc_column_text css=””]The COVID-19 pandemic had significant consequences in the Netherlands, with general practitioners managing numerous patients with acute COVID-19 symptoms. At the start of the outbreak, there was widespread uncertainty. For instance, GPs lacked guidance on which early drug treatments might prevent severe disease progression.<\/p>\n

Through the consortium, the seven departments of General Practice in collaboration with Nivel, are conducting research via the GRIP3 program: General practice Research Infrastructure Pandemic Preparedness Program.[\/vc_column_text]

3 million grant<\/h3><\/div><\/div>[vc_column_text]A result of the collaboration is that in 2021 the Consortium Research General Practice was awarded a 3 million euro subsidy from ZonMW. This funding has enabled 3 studies to be carried out into Covid-19 treatment in primary care and the strengthening of the infrastructure for research from general practices.
