A practicing GP since 1994, she initially ran a general practice in Santpoort-Noord until 2004. She later worked as a salaried GP in the Arnhem-Nijmegen region, served as a GP instructor, researcher, and director of postgraduate primary care training at Radboud University Medical Center. Her PhD focused on organizing care for chronic kidney disease, during which she developed and implemented Telenephrology. Her career has been centered around cross-institutional and interprofessional collaboration in both care and education.
